So I did the standard 24 hour leak test with tissues wrapped around all my connections and nothing... Been running the computer for about 2 weeks now and got some random freezes and restarts but didnt think had anything to do with the watercooling. Heard a garbling sound and checked my res and it was way down.... investigated closer and there was barely a hint of red dried liquid... thought ohh shit.

So checked it out further and my intake port on my swiftech gtz was leaking, i guess i didnt have the worm clamp tight enough or in the exact right position and a little bit of water slowly got through the clamp and builds up and then drips. After investigating further I actually had gotten quite a bid of liquid all over my computer.. On the sound card vid card all over the mobo in the sockets... Just cleaned out everything with 91% alcohol and letting it dry overnight now.

So if the liquid caused the freezing/restarts thats all it did as I just pressed the button and was back in business so nothing damaged.

Long story short, does distilled water work, sure but im glad I bought the feser as it might have saved something, maybe not. At least since it was colored when it dried up I could see that it was leaking, otherwise would have never known even upon investigation.

what kind of tubing and fittings do you use? I perfer 7/16" ID tubing over 1/2" barbs with zip ties or herbie clamps. Good to hear nothing was damaged but if you use 1/2" tubing over 1/2" barbs you will have to tighten your hose clamps really well. Straight distilled water will offer the best thermal conductivity but people don't like how its so plain, add a couple drops of petras PH neutral biocide and you'll be good to go.

Feser becomes conductive as soon as it touches any contaminant in your system (dust on components, particles in the air, etc.) just as distilled water does. Petra did a live test where he simulated a leak by pouring Feser coolant on a motherboard and it fried the board, just as distilled water did, and that was with just cleaned components, much cleaner than any setup any of us have. You're very lucky nothing shorted out, but it wasn't Feser's nonconductivity that saved you, it was luck.

Not having looked at his results im not sure how that compares to a real world leak, which is likely going to be out of just one component. I dont think any product is intended to be in contact with the board, i mean thats just common sense, keep it in the loop!
