While i'm waiting for all my updgrades to come in..I moved my gaming over to my Home Media Server for the time being. Here are the specs:
Abit IC7-G Max II Advance
P4 Northwood 3.2c w/Zalman 7000AlCu
2 x 1GB Corsair Value PC3200
Maxtor 160GB SATA
Leadtek Geforce A350 TDH Geforce 5900 clocked to 5950Ultra
Onboard Sound
Plextor 8x DVD -r/rw +r/rw
The only two games I play really, are Battlfield 2 and Counter-Strike Source. I can play BF2 fine...1024x768 w/Medium Settings..runs pretty smooth.
Now the Source Engine Games are another matter. I can play all the games off of steam except HL2 and CS:S. When I start either, I get an error:
Failed to initialize 3d Video..attempting to restart.
So it trys to restart 3 times..once in windowed mode and the last error that comes up is:
You must have at least a Direct 7 compatible video device...etc....
I tried 3 different drivers , and 3 different BIOS's for that card and still the same issue? Any ideas?
