Hi all,

I'm well aware of programs like nibitor for editing BIOS's but can I just flash the Leadtek Extreme 7800GT bios onto my standard Leadtek 7800GT?

Its not like theres any major differences like the difference between GT and GTX is there? Should just be clock speeds that differ.

Would it work?

Now you're confusing me....you mention GTX and you list both of your cards as GTs....huh?

btw, if anything, I'd use Leadtek's crappy flashing prog that they designed for their cards (winfox), but whatever.

if it's a 7800GT to a 7800GT Extreme, then go for it.

why not just OC? it looks like its practically the same thing...just faster.

I mentioned GTX as an example, re-read my post.

Flashed to Extreme BIOS and all is fine :)

ah :p

I read it wrong yesterday. Blame the sickness :D

Yea, the Extreme Bios are just modified to accept higher OCs better or something...good idea :p

skeeder, the thing is that Leadtek cards come pre-OCed to what normal cards max out at.

My leadtek 6600gt extreme came at 550/1120, and I got it way higher (see sig). I see alot of 6600gts max out at 540 (normal stock is 500/1000)....thats what makes the extremes so much better.

I'll stay leadtek for a very long time :p
