Is there a way to raise the GPU core Volts through Cool Bits? Would it help on pushing the Mhz up further? Right now with my Leadtek 6600GT PCI Exp i'm at 550/1140. If pushed any further I get artifacting in half life 2. My temp right now on the GPU is about 42 degrees max under load.
 
hey sorry this is off topic but considering you have a leadtek 6600GT can you do me a favour and see if it makes any "buzzing" or frequency noise when its under load, you will probably have to take the side panel off your case to hear it, im betting its jsut my card but wanna be sure before I RMA mine. If its to much trouble dont bother. As for your OC I wouldn't suggest upping the voltage unless you get some better cooling, they tend to run rather warm as it is under load, but thats really up to you.
 
I have never heard a buzzing or humming noise from may card. My Core temp is only at 42 degrees right now.
 
you can either raise the voltage by editing the bios, or by doing a pencil mod to your card.

i've seen a pencil mod somewhere on the net but forget where, its very easy to do, all you need is a 2B pencil and a multimeter.

most likely it isn't the voltage which is the problem though, more likely cooling and core quality.

i have a gainward 6600GT Golden Sample "GLH" card and on stock cooling no mods it does 610/1300.
