Leadtek 256MB A400GT question

I want to buy a Leadtek 256MB A400GT today, but i'm unsure if my PSU is powerful enough to run it.

I have a 350w antec PSU, with 3 HDs and a p42.8 running off it. I REALLY dont want to have to buy a better PSU.

so.. would it be a mistake to buy the it? perhaps i should get a 128mb 6800 version that doesnt require tons of power?

A 350watts Antec psu should just about be good enough for a GT. I believe this card uses just one molex power connector, unlike the ultra which uses two. I got the 6800nu version working on a 300watt Thermaltake psu without any problems, so the GT should be fine on a 350watt Antec. It may be an idea to check your 12 volt rails, anything around 15amps on each should be fine. My advice would be to try it and see!. If you do experience problems go for an Enermax Noisetaker psu, this superb psu keeps the case ambient temp low and it runs silently.

to provide distinction. leadtek has the right to do it with the 6800 series due to the cooler. asus just sucks and does it because they can.
