Who here is kind of worried about the upcoming release of Doom III?

I have a Dell 1800fp, and like many LCD panels, it has a native resolution of 1280x1024. I also know that there are a lot of newer, larger LCD panels that have an even greater native res, like the 2001fp's native res of 1600x1200.

I'm a little anxious about my poor 9800 Pro being able to run this game well at 1280x1024, and I really REALLY dont want to run it at anything but my LCD's native res, for obvious reasons. I'm sure those of you who are stuck at 1600x1200 must be even more worried.

What are we going to do? :(

good point.. o_O

<-- dell 2001 fp

i'm pretty sure the game will be optimized quite a bit and things might be more playable than you think :D

I am sure you will have all kinds of eye candy settings to play with. You might have to turn it down a bit. But if DOOM does not cater to the average computer user sales will plummet and you know they won't want that!
No worries I bet you will be playin without the slide show effect at native res.

I'm worried. I just got my 2001FP.

I tried with UT2k4 and at 1024 it looks fine. I'm just worried about black levels.
