LCD TVs as Displays?

Hey guys, what's the state of the arts regarding large LCD TV displays? I have read here as well as other places where some have expressed interests in using an LCD TV as their display monitor since the introduction of 1900x1200 resolution displays. I'm thinking about it myself.

Any thoughts and possible suggestions on proven models ?

I did a search for "LCD TV" because that's exactly what I'm looking for; naturally, it produced my own thread. But that's it.

For a topic that gets asked "almost every day", I was expecting more than one thread.

I'm not intentionally trying to be rude; I just wished people who are so rash to respond with "do a search" may also be kind enough to provide the threads they're speaking of. And without sounding too righteous, community forums are suppose to be helpful, instead we get a lot of derision from people.

All I did was search for Westinghouse. The 27" tv that I got. It works decent as a monitor. Looks great with dvd and okay with cable input. It does 1280x720 Native. It's got 16ms response time.

Any other questions let me know?

Thanks for the threads. Westinghouse seems to be an odd choice for delicate electronics. T

Did you ultimately decide on keeping the display or returned it for something else? Did you happen across any editorial reviews in your research?

I kept it. I'm watching tv on it right now. I like it. For the price you cant beat it.
