LCD TVs and display panel technologies

I was wondering what technology the newer LCD TV panels use from brand name manufacturers such as Sony / Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba and Philips. (Am I missing any of the big players?)

I'm guessing that Sony and Samsung's shared plant uses S-PVA but I haven't seen the characteristic dark center that is so obvious to me in larger S-PVA computer monitors.

I'm most interested in what Sharp uses since they have their own plant and do not manufacture computer monitors.
