LCD TV reccomendations

Im really debating getting nice 42 inch flat screen tv for room but Im not sure what i should be looking for in the TV itself. It more then likely wont have much more then my pc connected to it. Not even a DVD player as i store all my movies on my pc.

So recommendations or pointers in what exactly i should be looking for? One thing im worried about is the TV not supporting higher resolutions like my older Hitachi HD rear projection. Anyone care to shed some light for me here as to my options?
