LCD TV...is it good?

I am just hoping to get some reviews/feedback from people who have lcd tv's preferably over the size of 23inches. I am looking into getting a Viewsonic 27inch and yes it doesnt pump out the awsome pixels as say a samsung lcd monitor *24inch model* does

but when it comes to just playing games on and off a watching/working on lots of video and chatting would having simple 1024x768 on such a large screen be very comfortable for the eyes or is it looking at blotches of paint?

So post people what you think about lcd tv's from a hands on experience only please
