LCD temperature display problem

I've just reciently bought an x dreamer case from aspire and it has a backlit blue lcd on the front to display the temperature. The problem is i'm not quite sure how to hook it up. i have a shuttle ak32e motherboard. I thought i could hook the lcd up to one of my open fan connectors on my motherboard to get power to it and then put the temperature probe under my cpu heatsink or something. I can't find a place on the motherboard that matches the connector for the lcd though. The lcd connector has two holes in it that should connect to two pins somewhere. I'm not sure about using the fan connectors since they have three holes....does anyone know how i should hook this up? it really bothers me to have something on my case that isn't working......

are you sure the two pins are for power? all of the ones ive seen have had molex connectors.

those connectors should connect up with an opposite gender one with a molex on the end.... I have the x-dreamer II case and if you value your cpu dont' and I mean don't put the temp prob between the cpu and heatsink.

i read a faq online and it said that it did use the molex connector...what i'm wondering is...is the lcd supposed to use the same connector as the leds on the front? because that's the only other connector besides this weird two holed mystery plug....why didn't they send me a manual!?!? arg!

alright....prepare to read the stupidest post of your lives....the case did come with a converter. I was right, and the two pin connector was for the lcd screen...it had an adapter so that it plugs into the molex connectors....but they hid the adapter between the drive bays and the side of the case where i'd NEVER think to look....The only reason i found it was because i got P.O.ed and took the entire case apart and found it. so...it works now, sorry for wasting everyone's time.

If not between the cpu and hs, then where? How can it display cpu temp unless that's where it's hooked up?

The cpu thermal probe goes under the cpu. Usally it comes with tape to attach it to the base. The wires are then run through the pins. At least thats how it works on my Thermaltake Volcano 9.

Considering that it is a fairly large probe, I doubt that anyone could fit it under the cpu! the only other similar thing I had was the TT Spark 7 that went between the hs and cpu! really makes no difference since the lcd doesn't show any temp anyway; just an "L" and a thermometer!!

Interesting, I've never heard of a probe being installed between the Cpu and Hsf. I'd be really worried about the heat transfer between the core and the heatsink if there was something (besides thermal paste) in between.

god no you would never put the sensor BETWEEN the core and hsf... you put the sensor beside the core... or some people put it under the core if it has thin enough cables... think the volcano 11 came with thin cables on the temp sensor
