I just purchased a samsung 226bw and I have been having some trouble with getting dark games like fear to look good. Something has darkspots in the game look a crappy like the gamma or brightness is up to high. I have been messing around with settings on the monitor and my video card (x800 xt) but really im not to experienced with getting colors and everything just right with lcds. Does anyone have any suggestions how to get everything just right or anyone else who has this monitor what setting you have it at? Thanks

I have yet to complete this for myself (Need the "Good" Digi Cam) but the theory sounds good.

An LCD Calibration Technique

This will adjust your black levels so that they aren't "crushed". It makes it so that your computer outputs blacks that are actually producible on your LCD screen since what is most likely happening is that the LCD has a bit of leakage (All LCDs do so it shouldn't be considered a defect so to say).
