lcd screen scratch risk?

i was just wondering how easily a non reflective coated lcd screen will scratch?

also are there any cleaners out there for cleaning things off the screen such as; splatter (from drinks or food), fingerprints, water, dust etc....

Any lint free cloth will work fine.

also plastic will scuff and scratch easier than glass, there are glass surfaced LCDs but I prefer the unreflective surfaces.

I just use the Endust anti-static wipes on my LCD's. Just make sure you don't use too much elbow grease when cleaning. They work great because they are slightly moist, non abrasive and they also help prevent lint from sticking to the monitor which can be cause for incorrect "dead pixel" sightings.

I HATE this! The 2405 is my first LCD and I have been pranked by dust a couple of times!

I use only distilled water and Kim-Wipes, which are lab grade optical cleaning tissues. They aren't that expensive and work well. I got this tip from forums on my big-screen TV screen cleaning. Those A/V'philes are as anal about cleaning screens as we are, if not more. It may seem overkill using distilled water, but think about all the minerals, etc., in tap water that could build up, plus a $1 gallon of the stuff will last forever almost. The Kim-wipes are available online at a lot of camera supply stores.
