Im noticing everyone talk about certain lcd monitors being so great for gaming... Yet most of the monitors they are referring to have a resolution of 1280x1024 for the most part unless you got 19" and above. Now how can you play your games @ 1600x1200 and notice any difference if the monitor is only capable of 1280x1024? Clue me in plz
 
LCDs use physical pixels. If you run a higher resolution than you have pixels for the monitor has to simulate the extra pixels and the result usually isn't pretty.

So the rule of thumb is - only run your LCD at the resolution it's made for.

You want 1600x1200? Buy an LCD that has that.

I'm in the same boat as you. I want to game in 1600x1200 but all the monitors people recommend (like the Viewsonic VP191b) run in 1280x1024!

I haven't found any gamer recommended reviews on the 20 inch 1600x1200 LCDs.
 
I was afraid of that, well im debating either the dell 2405fpw or the samsung 214t. The samsung is cheaper (avg 700). I will make my decision in about 10 days.... Stressing lol.
