hey guys,

I am in the process of putting together a new system. So i thought i should go get a new monitor as well. I know I want an lcd, however, I am having trouble picking the one i want.
I am going to try and get a ati x800 xl, or a geforce 6800ultra, so i know i will be able to play gaes on 1600X1200. But none of the 19inch monitors i have seen that are reviewed well have that res, its all 1280X1024. I was wondering how much better would the game look in 1600, because i am perfectly happy with the 1280 monitors that I have seen, however I dont want to buy an expensive card and miss out on a game looks extremely better because of resolution. So just wanted to know whether the difference in resolutions is that critical.

ps. i have been playing all my games on 1280 on my old laptop and have been satisfied, so if the difference is not that big then im fine with it.

I just read that 1600X1200 isnt availible for 19 inch lcds, so i guess the next step would be a dell 2001fp. Still looking for an answer as to whether or not its necessary, thanks guys!

I find that I'm not happy without 1600x1200. I'd go after the 2001FP or a Viewsonic VP201s if possible.
