Looking for 8ms or better, high contrast ratio, at least 160 degree viewing angle.

Looking to spend no more than $350, less would be better.

Beating my brains out trying to find a good one...don't know if the whole 16.2 vs. 16.7 color thing matters either. LG and Samsung look good but this is all new to me. Also, 1280x1024 preferred, don't care about widescreen, no good for me at 19" I will be using it for gaming, but also for media, internet and general apps like word. Heard the TN panels are kinda iffy but I'm open to suggestions.

90GX2-BK - 4 ms response. Super cheap right now.
 
Buy.com has the Viewsonic vx922 on sale now for $224.95 after $20 rebate and free budget shipping. It has a 2ms rating. I have had this monitor for a year and I have been very happy with it.
 
Thanks for the replies, both have nice response times. I'm starting to get the feeling that if I expect to do any gaming that I have to get a TN panel and sacrifice color depth.

Either of those monitors has those strikes against it, any advice?

The contrast is actually 1600:1 but that's pretty damn good.
 
I bought the 90gx2 a few weeks ago from Newegg.....It's beautiful. I game (FPS) with it and have zero complaints. Get one.
 
Listen to the man in the last post. I just bought a 19" LG Flatron LCD 4ms response 'n all that and it's a fantastic monitor. I paid 229 for it at CC. Not 2 months later, I just laid down the bones on a 24" dell 2407 and I'm expecting it on Monday. I'm then going to sell the 19" LG monitor. So...poop. You might not want to spend that much to get the 24", but you can get a 22" for 350...
