LCD recomendations for HDMI laptop/ps3

Just bought a laptop a while ago, the gateway p831fx. Love the laptop except for the screen. Never had a laptop, perhaps its to be expected.

So now i'm looking for a new monitor but theres so many its mind boggling the amount that are out there, so I thought i would ask upon the knowledge of the community over here for a recommendation.

Less then 500$ pref
Capable of 1080p for meh ps3
Have 1 hdmi port, 2 a plus
Used for gaming, movies, n photoshop, but response time isent a huge issue for me.

If its awesome i'll pretty much find a store that sells it somewhere so thats not really an issue either.

$500 budget you can look at a BenQ G2400W. TN panel but, its pretty good. Also, look at the Westinghouse L2410NM. If you could spend a little more, you can get the Viewsonic VX2435wm which is an S-MVA panel and its good in viewing photos.
