This should probably go in the Laptop section, but, it's a display issue as well.
I have 2 similar laptops that use compatible panels. One had a better screen, but was less powerful than the other.
I decided to swap panels out, so I had the best on the good one, and the worst on the bad one.
Well, I ran into an issue when I was reassembling them.
The good screen, when plugged into the old system, shows nothing on the display. Backlight stays turned off.
The good screen, when plugged into the new system, shows the backlight on, but no image displayed.
The bad screen, when plugged into the old system, works, but the backlight looks like it remains off (I can barely make out the XP logo.
The bad screen, when plugged into the new system, works normally.
I was very careful in my disassembly and reassembly, and can't think of anything that I could have broken or damaged.
I'd really like to get the old laptop up and running again....as it was rather expensive. While I use it as a PVR/TV, I'd rather not have to have it plugged into a TV to work.
Any suggestions and insight would be greatly appreciated.
