Need some advise in reguards to a new monitor. I would like to get a new monitor and will be used for two things, first is school homework tons of reading and writing papers. But the reality is its for games. I presently have a 22" viewsonic not sure the model. I have a vision problem so I need to go bigger. I will sacrifice size for quality. I would like to stay below 700 if possible. Quality is important. I've seen some monitors for as little as $350 but the picture quality was terrible. I would like about 27" if possible. The pc used is a an intel 4950 quad with two 4870's in crossfire so size is not a real problem.

Thanks

Just look around. As you want it also for games, probably FPS etc., you should consider TN LCD. Probably BenQ V2400W or G2400WD. The latter is less expensive and has VESA mounting, so you can get a better stand for it. But I'v heard that it is not avalaible in the USA, or it is not so easily avalaible as the V model.
