LCD Issues with powering on/off

Here is the issue, I bought the cheap LCD monitor and now I'm paying for it, or so it seems. Its a TDV Vision 17" and I'm having a problem with it powering off spontaneously.

I'll be working on something and all of the sudden it just shuts off, the odd thing is, the power light is still on, but the monitor goes off. Its none of the Windows display settings that is doing it, they're all checked, and aside from those settings, I have no idea why its doing it.

Then, when I try to power it back on, it will come out for split second and then shut off, on for split second, off, etc. etc. repeat 'til I beat the monitor with a hard object.

I really am not up to RMA'ing it, I'm hoping its something else that I have missed before it gets to that step, so does anyone have any ideas, thoughts, etc. ???

Thanks,
-Murph
