i got a BenQ FP731 (17") LCD monitor 2day and im having some problems with it. at 8x6 or 1024 res, graphics looks pixelated and text looks blurry. At 1280 tho, it looks perfect. I bought the monitor because it had good reviews on newegg, but im not 2 pleased wit it. i was comparing the quality of it with my dads 17" LCD emachines, a 15" LCD mitsubishi monitor, and my 19" crt. i used a picture of my gf and the only one that looked pixelated was the BenQ. i tried adjusting the monitors display but it didnt help 2 much. is it the monitor that's fucked up or is it the settings? any feedback would be gr8

lcds look best at their native resolution.
in your case, 1280x1024.
otherwise they look pixelated, which is what you are experiencing.

just keep it on 1280.

thanks for the reply, i thought it was just the monitor but i was doing some research and you're right. i have one other question. The monitor is vga, but it came with vga to dvi convertor (my v card has both). i cant really tell too much of a difference in picture quality when i use it tho. If i had a monitor that had a dvi output, would it be clearer or it wouldnt matter?

thanks

dvi is higher quality.
some say its better, some say no, but for me, its clearly better when i use it.
