LCD Framerate?

This is probably a retarded question, but I read on another forum that having an LCD rather than a CRT will affect your framerate in games? That has to be wrong, right? The video card and other hardware is what makes the frame rate, and the monitor whether it be CRT or LCD just displays the image right?

I mean I know that LCD's are limited to 60/75Hz which when combined with vsync on will limit your framerate to 60/75 fps, but other than that, the framerate should be no different than using a CRT correct?

Just making sure before I decide to buy an LCD. Thanks guys. :)
 
Correct, frame rate is not affected by the display time, that would only be the refresh rate.
