As the title says, any nearly perfect lcd's for anything from SOF2 to Far Cry, PK and Doom 3? I dont care about price, only performance. I know this is kinda debatable but tell me what you recommend. Im not a digital picture editor fanatic but I do love a crisp, rich and in your face picture w/games. Grey scale does matter as most of the games I play are a little dark and I would like to be able to see there's an a** hole hiding in the shadows :D Thanks.

Oh yeah, and a very good RR matters!!

L90D+ Hyundai is very nice. Excellent color to it.
But I also LOVE my 2005fpw, and will never buy a non widescreen lcd agan.

To each his own.
I have both :)

Buy a 24" trinitron, I felt like I stole it, no one wants them anymore I guess. I bought the Dell 2405FPW, and it's nice, but I'm FPS crazy as well. It blurs a little, and I'm not knocking it, they all do. Oh wait, nvm, I kind of assume everyone is in the market for big. I dunno. Even in the smaller screens the VP191b is the most consistent with a rate never exceeding 16ms. I need a big screen to match that monitor's spec before I will look again.

edit: I see the topic is LCD specific. Sorry. Oh well, I took the time to write this as a fellow FPS freak, not a troll. As you can see, since you didn't mention size, my post would still not be totally for naught. If you must go LCD, and you didn't mention size, then the VP191b is a solid performer. Some of it's successors are not as good in response! Hence the head spinning considerations that must go in to buying one of these. Back in the old school for me.

Thanks for the response guy's!

As far as size I was thinking in the neighborhood of 20+ unless the best is at 19" and an inch doesn't really matter when compared to the 20.

You know, the whole lcd thing would really be nice for the obvious reasons over my crt. I know I will never (for now) get what my crt offers but if I can get it close enough that only a very keen eye will notice the difference then I'll be happy. I will go today to check out those monitors. We have this place called MicroCenter that are pretty good about hooking up a monitor on their gaming machine so I can see first hand with at least Doom and Half life. It's the only way to really decide I guess.

I keep hearing all this hype about the Dell 2001FP and the Eizo L778, whatcha all think about those?

I've got a Samsung 193p+ and it is quite nice. Playing BF2 and FEAR demo on it. Also plays movies well. 1000:1 contrast and 8ms response.

19" are 1280x1024 max res, 20.1" are 1600x1200.

my 2001fp is great. i absolutyley luv it. and i play all the FPSs out there. especially FEAR and COD2.

I have a 2001fp, and playing doom3, it plays great. Had a 1905fp before that and this one blows it away in the gaming dept.

Looking to get rid of it in favor of a CRT though, which I plan on using with an xbox360.

My 2005fpw show no noticeable blurring to my eyes, and the colors are amazing.

Having the extra screen width really helps with other things too.
