LCD for CAD? yay or nay

This is for a friend. He mainly uses CAD and Outlook, no games. He is wanting a shrap picture, something that can compare to his 21" Sony Trinitron G520. I suggested the CRT View Sonic graphic series but he is wanting a LCD to save some desk space. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I work for Oregon State Univeristy and we have some architects doing CAD here on Samsung 213T monitors.
