So, i have a I-INC 28 inch monitor. I guess its the same as Hanns. G 281 but with a different name.

I tried switching video cards thinking my 8800 GT was dying, but im currently on a 7600GT which still flickers @ native res.

If i lower the RES. lower than native the screen doesnt flicker.

has anyone else had this problem?

Have you tried a different monitor cable or a different input on the monitor?

Could be the backlight or power circuitry failing. I use a monitor at work that flickers but after about 30 min when it gets warmed up it goes away. Also what kind of cable are you using vga or dvi? Vga has some settings that maybe off on the monitor.

Alright, i changed the cable from HDMI to the old standard. The flicker has went away for the most part, but the monitor screen goes BLACK and wont come back. I can turn the monitor on and off and the screen comes back, but then goes right back out

Does this sound like a blacklight problem?

Is it easy to fix?

Thanks. BTW, i tried the monitor on a different video card+motherboard and same problem.

edit: If the screen goes into sleep mode (idle) it usually doesn't come back on. Right now the screen is moving like when you put a magnet by a CRT screen. Almost like the screen is dying.

Backlight problems only affect the the brightness, the picture shouldn't be distorted other than brightness. Not sure what's up with yours. If it is dieing usually it's cheaper to buy a new screen than to fix it. I would try a few other cables just to make sure it isn't the cables.
