Hey all.

On Sunday I went into circuit city and picked up a Sony 19inch LCD w 12ms. Bought it because of the sale they still had plus the $100.00 rebate, plus good overall reviews here. I was also looking at the ViewSonic VP201S/B, it's a bigger screen but a 16ms response time.

I like my Sony and I like to game in 1280x1024. However, the viewing angles are something I have to get used to. I can never get the brightness just right. White is way to bright... but other colors are too low. How would the ViewSonic compare in response, viewing angles, and 1280x1020 gaming?

I see zero ghosting on the sony.

Thanks!

I guess the real question I would like an answer on is since I have used a 12ms panel for a few days would I notice the difference with ViewSonic 16ms VP201S panel?

I'm not sure if you saw the few posts about settings on the HS94P, they were buried pretty deep in a thread. In any case, try these settings on it, see if it looks any better to you.

Backlight - 10
Contrast - 85
Brightness - 45
9300K Color
Gamma 2

Those seem to give a pretty decent picture, much better then stock =). Feel free to play with them a little.. good starting point tho.

look up reviews on the monitors if you can.. compare the actual response time opposed to the rated.. that 12ms panel could actually end up being around 16ms, with the actual 16ms panel being a good one at around 17ms...
