LCD Compatibility

I have a friend with a Gateway with a 2.8GHz Northwood and a NVidia GeForce Ti 4200 card. His monitor is dying and he is thinking about replacing it with this.............

it has vga and dvi, so it looks like he should be set.

it will display windows just fine, but gameing on it will be crap with that vid card, it wont have the power to push a lcd that size at any decent framerate, considering that the cpu is a 2.8, its probably about time for a compleat overhaul

but like i said, if he just needs to see windows, and isnt a gamer, maybe school work and such.. then yeah.. your good to go

Thanks for the replies. He is 67 and in poor health and does not play games so it sounds like it will be a good choice. I really appreciate the quick response since it is on sale at Gateway for about 350 until tomorrow.

I also appreciate the fact that I don't post here but once in a blue moon and there is always a quick helpful response.
