The papers that came with my vx2025wm say to use water and a soft cloth. How soft a cloth do I need so that I don't scratch the display. What are you experiences with cleaning lcd screens?

I usually just use a damp paper towel. Just remember if you're using water to immediately dry it and wipe all the water off (else it leaves streaks).

Although the most ideal is to use micro-fibre cloths like those for cleaning cameras, glasses, etc.

If you have something thats especially caked on there you can use a small ammount of dish soap but you'll want to avoid using Windex or other cleaners as they can in some cases damage the screen/coating.

I break all the rules - but I just mist a little Windex on a microfiber cloth and clean my LCD displays. I've never had a problem and they look good as new. As a matter of fact I cleaned both of my 2007FP monitors yesterday. I've been cleaning LCD displays since 2000 this way. :)

You're living on the edge my friend using windex :)

Are microfibre clothes cheap to come by? What kind of store would sell them?

I think you can even get cheap disposable microfibre wipes/cloths at most supermarkets. I really haven't looked to buy any recently as i have a bunch from my optometrist, one from my PSP, and this case even came with one to clean the window.

Still i just use paper towels. :)

Windex won't necessarially screw up the screen, i'd bet it won't damage most displays in any way (i know i've cleaned alot of CRTs/LCDs with it :D ) but there is always a small chance that it could mess up any screen coatings.
