LCD CCFL question....

Okay...I have this 15" LCD monitor that I was given about 2 years ago...it came off of a old emachines rig and has worked brilliantly as a second monitor since then. Yesterday I had my rig idling left the room and the screen was black when I came back (or so I thought). I looked closer and noticed that I could still make out text on the screen. So I have 2 rigs, this monitor was on my mulitmedia rig (music, movies etc). First thing I did was take my 19" viewsonic and hooked it up to my second dvi port on my vga card. It worked fine and a couple of seconds later the backlight on the 15" popped on....this is the problem....the 15" backlight will stay on as long as I have the rig in dualview and a second monitor hooked up...WTF:confused: . I even tried switching dvi port between the monitors and it didn't make a difference...same result. My question is, if it is a CCFL(backlight) or the inverter on the 15" going bad...how does the introduction of a second LCD influence the 15" working or not working. By the way, I confirmed it...if I take the 19" LCD out of the equation...the 17" inch will go dark after about 5 to 10 minutes....totallly confused. Thanks in advance for your replies.
