Hi all...

What is the amount of BRIGHTNESS that u guys would consider as " GOOD " or " EXCELLENT " on a laptop LCD??

I mean as in "Candelas per sq meter: Cd/m2" or as it is known in North America : nits

Reason I am asking is that I saw an ACER Aspire 2026WLMi laptop a friend of mine had bought and its a 15.4" with 1280 x 800 and the display is just GORGEOUSLY bright and beautiful, even though I HATE widescreens.

I am planning on getting a TECRA M3 with a 14.1" with 1024 x 768 (my eyes are not very good) but when i dl the PDF file with the specs it shows 2 options :

14” diagonal TFT active-matrix LCD display at 1024x768 native
resolution; Maximum Brightness 145 Cd/m2
14” diagonal TFT active-matrix LCD display at 1400x1050 native
resolution; Maximum Brightness 170 Cd/m2

well...i want to go with the 1024x768 but 145 nits is WAY TOO LOW in comparison to the 220 nits on the acer...or are the specs on the ACER OVER RATED???

In short ...is the DISPLAY on the TECRA M3 GOOD?

P.S.: Cd/m2 is the SAME as nits...here's a site explaining it:
