Is there anything wrong with leaving an LCD on 24/7? Burn-in or any other problem?
The monitor in question is a 2001FP.

as long as u use a screen saver, there's no problem with burn in.

LCDs don't get burn-in. No screensaver required.
While they generally do not suffer from permanent burn in, it is not unusual for some temporary burn in to occur on LCDs. It will go away if the monitor is unplugged for a duration of time.

That's the thing, I would like to be able to keep it on without the screen saver so I could keep my eye on things (e-mail, IMs, downloads, etc.) thruout the day just by glancing over at it.

I leave my NEC on all the time and I've never had any burn-in or anything to complain about so I think you should be ok.

You'll just get temporary burn-ins so yes you'll be safe, but don't forget you'll still get that burn in.

in the LCD worls it's called image retention, un huh yea right, sounds like burn in with a much prettier name, LCD's are much much harder to get image retention than a CRT so it's really nothing to worry about. Some one needs to write a program where you hot box one corner of your screen so if you ove your mouse to that corner the screen goes to Black(But is still on) and with the movement of the mouse it will go bak to you deck top.
