every month or so, i take the sides off my computer and blow all the dust out. the last three times i did this.. when i hooked everything back up and pushed the power button

nothing.

not a peep, beep, or otherwise.

so i pop off the side and check all my connectors, surely something has come loose! satisfied that i've nudged every connector back into place, i push the power button again and i get about half a turn out of the cpu fan, a few lights on the mobo for a little under a second, and then nothing. so i dive back into my case after connectors, this time around, i make sure to hit just the power connectors. hit the button a third time and she's alive.

this happened three or four times. but today was different. it was so dead, i couldn't even get the little half second fan spin. it was so bad i started pulling peices off the machine to start elimating possibilities. i disconnect everything until i was left with just the motherboard, cpu, ram, and power supply. nothing. i try again with the video card in place.

and still nothing.

not wanting to leave my baby in shambles i hook everything back up and just for shits and giggles i hit the power button one last time, and she comes to life.

now i suspect it's my cheap-ass coolmax power supply that is the culprit. but to be sure, i made this post. any ideas? the problem seems to be getting worse. lol i can't just leave my computer full of dust forever.

Could be the psu, although I did have an MSI mobo that behaved like that. Whenever I changed anything at all, it wouldn't boot, and I would have to fiddle with it and keep trying to boot it up. The psu was fine. In between boot attempts do you switch off the psu in the back for a moment?
