HAHA, prescott bombs. I for one was expecting more than this. AMD is starting to look better and better. Of course this is leaked info. Guess we got to wait until Feb 2nd.Originally posted by xonik

Wow, that's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever seen someone done. Being totally commited to "buying" a CPU before you even know how good it will be is never a good idea. Hype has a history of dissapointing people.Originally posted by Tedinde
I'm buying a 2.8 and a 3.4 prescott. Easy to dump in customers rigs if they suck.
Just waiting. I sold my northwoods before the price drops.

they can't be worse than current northwood.
Why would intel release a new CPU that is worse![]()

from what I heard, we can expect new steppings of prescott to increase performance as intel debugs and activates some of the features that weren't complete for launch. the core is being rushed to market, expect later steps to feature lower power consumption, better performance, and all around a better chip.

The Inquirer doesn't live by credibility. It simply passes information along. For that I credit them. You didn't seriously think that The Inquirer cares about its credibility, did you?![]()

I guess you guys will be disapointed when it turns out that the Inq was right about prescott performance and yamhill.
