I have been having this problem for a while and for the life of me can't figure it out. I don't really consider myself much of a network expert but here goes it.
Lately I have been having a lag spike Issue. I currently have comcast as my ISP.
Anytime that I use more than one computer at a time on my network my latency spikes like crazy. Just doing a normal speed test I was getting about 50mb down and 15mb up.
If say, I stream a video on my 2ndary computer and do a speedtest on my main my speeds will drop to about 11mb down and 11up. I was also doing a ping google.com -t and watching my ping on there. It was averaging about 25-30ms response time however, when I ran a speed test and was watching the response times it would bounce around anywhere from 400-2000 with random request time outs. I can't seem to figure this out and its driving the wife and I nuts. I have tried different routers and still the same problem.
