Latching Vandal Switch?

Does anyone know any place that sells vandal resistant switches that are latching (push to make/break) rather than the Bulgin switches sold everywhere which are only momentary. Ideally it would not have LED lights.

Basically, all I'm looking for is a brushed aluminum push button switch but would like it to look somewhat similar to the vandal resistant switches.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm... no suggestions?

How about a relay? Anyone know anything about those? Any way to wire a momentary switch to trigger a relay to act as a latching, push to make switch?

I'm trying to not use those ugly rocker switches for a light-bus I'm building for CCTs.

Wow... didn't think it was that involved!

Can't believe it's this complicated and/or difficult to find a simple latched switch! Found a couple places online that sell non-illuminated "vandal" switches really cheap though so maybe I'll have to try to find 87a relays and give it a try with an old CCT or something.

Thanks much!

Anyone know where to find just the switch to save me ^that^ kind of work?

no latching vandle switches. you could get a latching relay, but 2 auto relays will be cheaper. you dont even need auto relays - radio shack is your friend.

Radio Shack : you've got questions, we've got blank stares.

Maybe the Shaqs around you are better then they are here. When I was building my first LCD mod they thought I was some kind of terrorist because I was buying flat 20 wire ribbon cable. They didn't even know they stocked it.

Think I'm going to have to try to decipher exactly what those schematics are trying to illustrate. Just not seeing where the power leads, switches, etc fit into the whole mix.

ill gladly redraw it using PC relays if you want... and there are other ways to do it, with transistors or IC's... letme know how i can help

just incase, heres the transistor circut:

resistor, transitor and capcitor values dont matter much, as long as the are close it will still work

Heh... thanks... how about a quote for how much you'd charge to build two of those. :D

Where as I like the relay drawings, lets make this simple.

http://www.bulgin.co.uk/

Go there to thier switches section and look for S.P.C.O. switches (single pole constant on) and get there model numbers. I like the MP0034/3 myself. then google for bulgin and the model number. http://www.newark.com/product-details/text/catalog/33387.html has that one for 21.78 before shipping. All thats left is to use your extreem modding skils with your credit card. :D

Hope this helps.

ROFL... Now I just have to figure out the correct way to Dremel my available balance. :D

Seriously, thank you VERY much... that's exactly what I was looking for! I'd done searches for "Bulgin Latching" and didn't find very much but Newark seems to have exactly the switches I was looking for.

Although I may still end up trying to build the above circuit at some point, then if it works building a couple and trying to sell them from the webpage I'll be posting my worklogs at.
