Hey everybody,

I'm about to get the following system, and I'd like you gurus to look at it and tell me if you see anything wrong/missing/uncompatible in it.

Shuttle SN25P
Geforce 7900GT BFG (slightly overclocked)
Zalman VF700-CU to cool the GeForce in case I decide to OC it more
Corsair XMS 2GB 184-PIN DDR SDRAM DDR400
AMD 64 X2 4800+
NEC ND-3550A
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 400GB SATA
HYUNDAI Q90U LCD Monitor

Thanks a lot!

Not too sure if the Zalman VF-700 would fit, I think you might need to dremel part of the drive cage to fit it in.

Personally I don't think the Zalman is necessary.

I would also ditch the corsair in favor of OCZ PC4000 RAM.

Even if you don't want to overclock the processor you can drop the multiplier and jump the HTT to 250 and enjoy the extra memory bandwidth.

I would also go with a Liteon DVD RW. They are a bit smaller than NEC. Gives you a little more room to work with the cables.

OCZ is DDR 500, and according to the specifications, SN25P supports DDR333/400.

How's that going to work?

The memory frequency increases when you over clock, its just a divider on the front side bus, most people like to run the memory at 1:1 ratio to the front side bus.

By raising the FSB you can run the memory at a higher frequency and reap the extra bandwidth.

I am going to pick up a SN25P tomorrow and it will have a naked Opty 146 (0604DPAW) that does 3.0Ghz with 1.5Vcore under water, OCZ 3700 Plats (TCCD) that does 310Mhz 2.5-4-3-6, BFG 7800 GTX, Seagate 7200.9 250GB Hard Drive, Plextor 716a DVD-RW.

I am hoping to put a ATI 550 PCI-E Capture card in it if I can find one in Canada.

I am hoping that the Opty will do 2.8Ghz before heat becomes an issue. I will report back and let you guys know how it does:)

Drop that zalman GPU cooler and hope for a PCIe sound card to replace that crappy onboard.
