I was looking around newegg today as i was thinking of upgrading my flashed HD6950 so i starting looking and that $289 before $20 rebate HD7950 Boost looked intresting with the free games, so i pulled the trigger on one but Sapphire doesn't list this model on there website.
So i started digging around as there is a topic about the 2 ref looking cards on another forum and turns out these are not Sapphire made but AMD (ATi) made cards as someone ask Sapphire rep about the new models and there reply was..
Quote:
this is not using hynix memory, and yes this is the latest version of the HD7950 but to be honest it’s the original ATI reference design version, which means these are last of the stock that ATI build themselves for their customer, but now end up at our inventory and we are selling it for them.
reports of unlocked voltage up to 1.25v and the PCB is a ref HD7970 board.
