I've had it with my old inkjet. It was an old HP C5xxx series whos LCD died. I can't print anything from it because the error light is always on but I have no LCD to view what the error is. When it was still working, it constantly demanded all ink cartridges to be functional just to print black and white.

So I want to move to a laserjet. Does anyone have any solid recommendations for something not too bulky but includes a scanner? Wireless would be nice, but not necessary. My budget is roughly $100-$150 shipped (will be ordering online). Thanks.

Go with Brother. For example, the DCP7065DN is a good all-in-one monochrome printer with built-in networking (instead of wireless) and auto-duplexing, which none of the cheaper HP printers have.

wow, it looks terrific, thanks! I'll look around some more if there is anything a tad more compact. I have a few weeks to decide, so no rush.
