Laser cutter: should I get it?

i would doubt you would get it for 35, but you also need to take notice of the power requirements, if i remember correctly putting in a 3 phase power setup aint cheap and would drive your electric bill through the roof and not to mention moving it would be a big pain in the ass 150,00 pounds?
but gl if you do get :D

what gases do you have to put in there? I get you could get a massive step up transformer, but why would you need a laser cutter? To torture your wife when she goes out and buys some thousand dollar shirt? Or to 'encourage' your child to start studying books? hmm, i guess the possibilities are endless....BUY IT

Man that thing is massive. Am I reading it correctly - does it say it draws 120 amps total? 120 amps is probably more than a lot of residential service, not to mention it requires 3 phase. That'll take a bit more than just a transformer to get. I just can't get over that. Originally $300000 and now up for auction at $35. I sure hope they got $299965 of use out that. If get this then you had better start doing laser cutting for a business because that thing is not the kind of thing you keep in your garage to cut out the occasional side panel. Hell I don't think I would want to put 75 tons of equipment in my house. The house would probably start slanting. You would be truly [H[ardcore if you got that, though.

I don't think that i'll be getting it anytime soon, lol. But they do have a PCB milling machine that I'm very interested in (it's only 75 lbs). Seriously do you all think I should go for that?
