LaRocco Audio Headpohone ampanyone used or heard one? how do they sound? im looking for PPA amp. previous spending limit was 150 but now am willing to spend up to $500, any suggestions on headphone amps fro around 500?

well right now i have some "decent" sony studio headphones, dont knw the exact model #, but they cost about 100 when i bought them 2 years ago. I plan on upgrading those in the near future (prolly be willing to drop roughly 350 on them, im thinking maybe Grado SR325i) im looking for an amp right now so that i can improve the sound quality of my current headphones, as well as ones i might buy in the future.
Also, on the PPA, i jus heard that PPAs sounded the best of the more common ciruits, but if oyu have any other suggestions at that price point, go ahead, my ears are open.
 
tubes do a great job on voices. got this nice little amp about 4 weeks ago. easily worth twice the asking price.

very good transaction with this company. fast email response. Snowy Law tests for 120 hours before shipping. noisy with my low impedance headphones on 32 ohm, but my 250 ohm cans are quiet - no hum, buzz. very happy with this powerful great quality amp.
 
looks nice, though im not sure about tubes, i hear if they break they are a PAIN to replace (cost alot and are hard to find the specific ones). also im looking for something a little more sleek looking like a brushed aluminum look, never been a fan of colored lights emanating form my electronics. good find though, how much would they usually go for?
any info on tubes would be appreicated (pros and cons)

they are all over ebay, too. very long lasting...certain tubes have better durability transporting(guitar amps, etc) than others but home audio ain't going nowhere. this is a very classy looking amp with the one blue power led on front and very soft amber glow from the tubes. not bling, just class. $9 - 25 a tube depending on selection.

btw, i have an 8 year old mesa boogie tube guitar amp that has been around the block and tubes are going strong. playing guitar through tubes is heaven after solid-state. superior tone and sustain.

also, the amperex bugle boy 12ax7(holland) is a highly sought after tube from the 60's...and guess who's looking for one?

i think the price for that amp went up a little...$200usd...i'd say about $330 after shipping(where you get tagged hard)
 
cool, thanks for all your help guys. Im really leaning towards building my own, since so many people seem to do so. i love building things, and i love even more USING things ive made myself... its so rewarding. the same budget as before, any suggestions which one i should build for best quality inder 500? difficulty of the build is not a huge concern, as im pretty adept at figuring it out, and the harder it is/more i have to learn to build it the more rewarding it is in the end.
