What are we talking about here? WUXGA on a 15.4 or what?

Any smaller laptop screen with a horizontal res higher than 1280. Maybe even larger screens like that, not sure.

14.1" and 1440 x 900 is alright, 15.4" an 1680 x 1050 is alright as well, but 1920 x 1200 on a 15.4" is painful at times. 17" and 1920 x 1200 is okay though.

Don't mind looking at smaller fonts,..now...my 11.1" Vaio TT screen has a resolution of 1366x768 - took a bit of getting used to after using a 10" netbook screen at 1024x600..lol

14.1": 1440x900 - I wish 13" screens had this resolution
15.4": 1680x1050 - I loved 1920x1200 for about 2 weeks, then developed headaches from eyestrain/squinting
17": 1920x1200

12" - I can grudgingly live with 1280x800 on my tablet, although I'd love 1440x900.
14.1" - I demand at least 1440x900; anything less isn't really usable.
15" - 1680x1050 is fine. I've used and loved 1920x1200, but that was pushing it.
17" - 1920x1200 is the only way.

If the resolution is too high, you can set it lower or increase the DPI. You can't do the inverse on smaller-res screens.

I hate doing that though, because then things get fuzzy.

12" 1280x800, 14" 1440x900, 15.4" 1680x1050, 17" 1920x1200
12" 1024x768, 14" 1400x1050, 15" 1600x1200

That's a natural and comfortable progression for me, but anything less than (W)SXGA+ is too little space for me. I sold off a brand new laptop because it was 1280x800 in a 15.4", just because I felt too constrained by the low resolution.

I love my 15.4" 1920x1200, and imagine it would have a comparable to the 12" 1440x900 Lenovo X200s I'd love to replace my netbook with. That 1024x600 I tolerate due to the limitations of the system, but hate the the low resolution.

My last laptop was 15.4" with 1920x1200 and I loved it, but I may have just gotten used to it. Anytime someone borrowed it they had to strain to read or see anything on it.

These are my standards for notebook LCD resolution. I hate that so many 15" laptops are 1280x800...what the heck!?

I used to have a 1600x1200 (UXGA) on my 15" LCD laptop. Too small. 1680x1050 is perfect on 17" LCDs (although Vista and Win7 look fine at 1920x1200 on 17" displays). Too bad most 17" LCD laptops ship with 1440x900. :(

I love my Lenovo x60 tablet at 1440x900. Was honestly the only reason i bought the tablet and spent the extra couple hundred...

1400x900 on a 15.4 is a good setup, I have a 17 inch with WUXGA and sometimes its a little small but not that painful.

One good thing about Vista is it scales text size very well compared to XP. So text size isn't an issue with high resolution.

Personally I think 1680x1050 is about right for 15.4" screen. I personally wouldn't go higher because I do light gaming on my laptop and there aren't many 15" laptops that can game well at 1920x1200.
