Laptops hard drive crashed....need help getting some info back

the hard drive on my laptop just died. I need to get like 4 folders off my laptop and then i'll re-install. this is the error that i get on startup. The file table informaion for both partitions on the drive are not there anymore. they were both NTFS.

ANY help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

P.S i did chkdsk -r from the recovery console and it got to 25% and said that it could not continue and had errors

forgot to add.......

when i put in my 2nd hard drive that i have for strictly my messaging systems class it boots up just fine
im going to take the drive to our schools helpdesk and use their adaptor for a while and see if i can get partition magic to get it to work or something.
