Im looking at gettin a gaming laptop, and I have a couple of choices:

128mb radeon 9700
256mb radeon 9700
128mb nvidia 6600
256mb radeon x700

Which one would be the best (and by how much) for now and somewaht in the upcoming future?

The mobility 9700 (4 pipelines, 128-bit memory interface) is really just a mobility 9600XT.

The x700 is the fastest of the 4 you listed, but you may also want to look at the Mobility 9800 (8 pipeline x800), Mobility x800 (12 pipeline x800-based) and 6800go (12 pipeline NV41M) since all 3 of these are faster.

If you're looking for a "gaming" laptop, x800 or GeForce 6800Go are the ways to go. Where are you getting the laptop from? Dell's 9300 series features a 6800Go and is much cheaper than the XPS 2

The only reason Im not lookin at the 9300/xps is because i dont want a 17inch screen, and still somewaht mobility and battery life.

So i guess im gonna go with the x700, but the only problem is taht its paired with a pentium m, while the 9700s are with a 64 athlon, but idk if thats gonna make a huge difference.

I currently have the x800 mobility, and I gotta tell ya, it runs Half-Life 2 at full settings, max AA and AF and I get 0 lag.
