just what it says... what is the best one i can get to put in my laptop so i can do suck things as video editing/gaming when im away from my home.
AGP 8x version prefably
i play 3d games mostly and do a good bit of editing.....

what do yall think is the best one for me to go with, the only card i know for sure will fit in my laptop is a ATI Mobility 9700 Turbo 128MB..

do you guys think i should go witht this card or is their something better i can go with?

All help will be appreciated.....
 
Mobile 6800 would be your top choice. The Mobile X800 is nice, but it's slow AFAIK.
 
You actually know how to install a gfx card within a laptop? Or are you configuring one online right now and want to know which is the best one to get?
 
Any one got any benchs from good sites?
I mean I just want to see who comes out on top I dont even game on laptops in fact I hate laptops just my opinion though! :D
 
the laptop i want has an ATI Mobility 9700 Turbo 128MB with agp interface and the next one up would be the 6800 but then u have to get a different laptop because it runs PCI-E.
and this laptop cost over 3000 which im not gonna spend and the one im looking at runs 1600

so basically i guess a better way of putting this question would be do they even make Mobile 6800 in agp or is it only PCI-E because they siad they dont have 6800s with AGP instead of PCI-E interface
 
There is a 6800 ultra mobile and there is no ati equivolent nor higher.

Check with your mfg to see if your laptop can be upgraded.

i dont think that there was a very clear answer here:

the only laptops on the market that can change graphics cards are dell XPSs, and some alienwares and/or voodoo and/or falcon northwest. either way, there are maybe 5 different laptop models on the market that have interchangable graphics cards. and theyre very expensive.

so, no, the one that you want to buy cannot change cards, unless its a XPS. the XPS Gen1 has AGP 8x topping out w/ a 256MB Mobility 9800. the XPS Gen2 comes w/ the 6800 series not like theres anything to upgrade to from that anyways.
