I am looking for something like this.....
http://www.pbase.com/image/100637372/original

I didn't even realize dell had machines like this. I just thought it would be bad-ass to have ghostflames all over a 17" MBP or something. However i am curious of a couple things. Be warned i dont know much, so if my questions are stupid be excuse them.

I have sent a couple e-mails to people who do car paintwork, maybe they arn't the best people for this....i dunno, but i figure it's a place to start. I dont know what design i want....maybe something with some simple pinstripes, maybe ghost flames, maybe a picture of myself....who the hell knows? but here we go....

1. Would i HAVE to take it apart? or would someone be able to tape it off? i don't know about painting and i wouldn't want to ruin this, but i figure someone could tape the hell outta the machine.
2. Does anyone know what this would cost? i have 2 motorcycle companies that have shot estimates from $300-400. That seems reasonable, but i want a good job and i don't need a bargain price for a bargain job.
3.How can i make something that wont get scratched to shiit? I know i want a clear coat over it to make it all glossy and shiney, but dont know how durable that is going to be. I figure car paint has to hold up to the open road and rain.....would that be good or what am i looking for when i talk to these airbrush guys?
4.Is there something i am overlooking? I might not even know the right questions to ask. If you think i need to do or think about something let me know.

thanks for anything you can do to help.

thanks....i am looking around it right now....

I am curious how to get a hold of someone who would know about warranty info. I could call Apple.....but that's always a hassle.

You could go to http://www.colorwarepc.com/ hey do amazing work with macbooks. I might get mine done in Black/Orange. But its damn expensive! around 400-500$ !!! But its damn worth it!

You can pick exactly which parts are which colors.

About the warrenty, you are covered. But if the problem has something to do with the paint, then your not. If its like an actual hardware problem you are still covered. Its in the warranty.

If you do get it done, TAKE PICTURES!

I want to do something like this:

But damn, $520 >_<. Its cheaper if you just get one full color.
