Laptop LCD Conversion

I know it has been mentioned before ([HERE] and [HERE]), but I'm seeking more info if possible. I guess what I'm really looking for is a schematic or other useful information on creating the controller board in order to convert my notebook's lcd screen for use with a standard VGA or DVI video output, or really any video signal source.

The power supply shouldn't be hard to create. The difficult part looks to be the controller card. I do not want to buy one, but build my own. I believe if I can just find a schematic or thorough data or spec sheet I may be able to complete the project from there. But two hours of searching has not yeilded what I am searching for.

Any info would be helpful, but only on what I need to do it myself (unless by some miracle a controller card is found for dirt cheap, then I'll buy it and aim to reverse engineer it).

not very much info, but a similar project done here, albeit with a much older, 640x480 screen.

This site has links to hundreds of mods and stuff. Maybe one of those will help you. Maybe one of the people who did one could give you directions. I suggest picking a random guy who likes like he knows a lot about diplays and emailing him.
