Laptop keeps prompting to connect to VPN... how to turn off this prompt?

A laptop at work always pops up a message asking for username and pass to dial into the VPN whenever I start firefox or IE explorer... but I am not trying to get into the vpn I just need to use the internet. If i click cancel the box just goes away and the net works fine, but it's annoying... is there a way to turn off this prompt? If I wanted to connect to the VPN I could just manually go into my network places and double click on it anyways...

help please?
 
in IE, tools>internet optionsconnection tab>
remove whats in the dialup box or just select the radio button for never dial a connection.
