Hi there my wife has a dell inspiration 5160, and the fan is running all the time at full speed. What can the problem be?

The battery overheating?
Chexk the back of the battery, below the upc for any of these numbers. If it is one of these models, contact Dell and get it warranteed.

Apparently, they had a little problem with these ;)

Honestly, it could be any number of problems. Spyware, dirt on your fan, an actual heat problem, etc, etc....

No way to diagnose it unless there are more details.

I have the battery out am I supposed to look for battery type or the number on the barcode?

The number below the barcode, it should be in the second series of numbers.
I believe it's something like this... xx-xXXXXXXx-xxxx-xxx
or something similar. The nimbers your looking for would be where the x in my example is capitalized.
