Laptop HD case? Is this one?

"No external power needed", so why does it have a 5V input? I can only see a 2.5" enclosure being practical if it didn't need external power.
 
A close look at the box says its bus powered... via USB... but maybe the plug is there for peeps who cant power it from their compy? or dont want to?
