Hey everyone, I have an HP Pavilion laptop ze1110 that has a hard drive that is about to die.

The drive is accessible through a bay in the front of the laptop so it shouldn't be too difficult to change (I hope)

My question is, where should I/can I get the replacement hard drive? HP? NewEgg?

What sort of things should I look out for when purchasing and swapping out a laptop hard drive.

Any advice at all would be appreciated

Thanks Everyone

if you want a faster drive, and dont mind about the money, get a 7200RPM or 5200RPM harddrve. they will help when searching for files or anything.
sometimes laptop harddrives are too big or too small for the laptops harddrivng housing. so get the one that will fit in it

That seems like a pretty recent laptop (a nice one at that), so I'd think it would still be under warranty. Even if it technically isn't, call in to the support number (should have come bundled with the laptop) and ask for a replacement. Politely tell them its for a business need and you need a replacement drive. I've heard of many tmies that a part has been replaced despite the fact the entire unit is out of warranty.

None of this is any good is your wanting a bigger/faster drive. At that point, any laptop drive should work in it. None of our stuff is proprietary (ahem Dell, nice job!).

If none of that works, you can either PM an AIM name or e-mail address and I can try to help you. Sometimes I get stuff done internally for friends of mine. I can't promise anything, but I have done it a few times in the past.

Thanks for the help Djnes

I'm not sure how new it is, I will have to check with my customer as to when he purchased it. Hopefully I can get the replacement drive from HP and call it good.

If I have any problems I will PM you!
